The Images (Hexagrams) of the I Ching Oracle in Psychic Readings

Psychic Readings from The Psychic Internet often feature images drawn from the I Ching Oracle. To offer supplementary information about these images for our clients, and for the public, we have provided this archive of brief articles.

The abstract images of the I Ching Oracle (usually called "hexagrams") symbolize all of the related and interacting aspects of reality. In the following excerpts from actual Psychic Readings, the images of the I Ching are discussed.

After Completion

These ideas should be considered in light of the first of the images that I have drawn for you from the I Ching Oracle, the ancient Chinese classic that is also known as the Book of Changes. This image, After Completion, appears just before the last image in the traditional sequence of 64 images that comprise the entire oracle. And each image in the sequence describes a different phase of a vast cycle of experience and development that is captured as a whole in the entire collection of images. The I Ching describes a process that is forever changing, always moving. And it describes your situation, with respect to this question about moving to another location, as something that happens at the end of a cycle of development.

Notice that I referred to it as the image that comes before the last image in the whole sequence. The last image, the one that actually ends the cycle, is usually called Before Completion, but I like to call it “Transition,” because it describes a situation that happens just in the moment before a new cycle of development begins, in the actual transition from the old to the new. To be, as you are, in your situation, in a condition of After Completion is NOT to be actually ready to move on to the next chapter in your life. You have not yet come to the point characterized by the last image of the series, the image of Transition. You see, in your specific situation, you have yet to enjoy the necessary spark of regeneration, the starter signal that will send you out at the perfect time and under the right circumstances.

I can well understand your desire to move and to structure your life on a different basis. You evidently believe that your growth is stunted and your happiness frustrated in your present location, and I also sense that this is true. But, at the same time, it is important for you to exercise caution. It is not enough to be at the end of a cycle of development. A new cycle of development can only happen when the proper moment arrives. Wait for the moment of transition to happen naturally.

And the I Ching Oracle reminds you that the beginning of a new cycle is fraught with certain dangers. In the words of a verse that has been highlighted specifically by today’s Reading from the image of After Completion, the oracle gives you implicit advice of a very sharp nature. It says, “The finest clothes turn to rags. Be careful all day long.” And in the central verse associated with this image, the oracle says, “Thus the superior person takes thought of misfortune and arms herself against it.”

One of the obvious obstacles in your path involves your need to find suitable employment in one or the other of your proposed new locations. And it would certainly be a misfortune not to have suitable employment.
