Contemplation

As I said, this may not be an easy task, but I know that you have the personal resources to play this role among your associates and the people who work for you. You may also picture in your mind the calm stability that is described in the image of Contemplation, as a constant meditation that will help you fulfill this immensely important role. The image of Contemplation describes a tower at the center of a great field. From the tower, one rises in altitude to survey all the land surrounding it. The tower is designed to give the long view of things. During the Middle Ages, great scholars and mystical alchemists like Faust lived in towers. It is also a place of utmost tranquility and self-possession, once again harking back to what I said above about the eye of the storm.

And in the central verse associated with the image of Contemplation, your role is characterized in yet another way, but still in perfect conformity with what has already been said above. In this verse, the oracle says, “Thus the kings of old visited the regions of the world, contemplated the people, and gave them instruction.”

In short, you need to exert a unifying force upon people during the week ahead. The way in which people are depending on you is described in the Judgment verse associated with the image of Contemplation. In this verse, the oracle says, “Contemplation. The ablution has been made but not yet the offering. Full of trust they look up to him.” This verse draws on the idea of religion, describing, in our Western terms, the equivalent of the most profound moment in the Holy Mass. The Communion (in which the word “union” is the operative word) requires the offices of the priest, on whom all others are absolutely dependent. Thus, you can see the importance in your situation of rising above all forms of egoism, so that none of the individuals referred to above can succeed in drawing you in their factional direction exclusively through emotional appeals to you personally. A supreme detachment will help you in the days ahead to make a success of your business venture.
