The Images (Hexagrams) of the I Ching Oracle in Psychic Readings

Psychic Readings from The Psychic Internet often feature images drawn from the I Ching Oracle. To offer supplementary information about these images for our clients, and for the public, we have provided this archive of brief articles.

The abstract images of the I Ching Oracle (usually called "hexagrams") symbolize all of the related and interacting aspects of reality. In the following excerpts from actual Psychic Readings, the images of the I Ching are discussed.

Coming to Meet

In the Judgment verse associated with Coming to Meet, the oracle says, “The maiden is powerful. One should not marry such a maiden.” Basically, this judgment refers to the fact that A. is not really suited for you in a relationship of marriage. Indeed, he would have to subdue your better judgment and instinct to lead you into marriage. Yet, I have a feeling that he is more than willing to try to make that effort. He has probably demonstrated this to you already by the way in which he has courted you, for I feel that he is very much enchanted by you, and would like to overcome your resistance if he possibly can.

But the oracle warns you about giving in to any such pressure, coming from him or from whatever other angle that tries to move you in that direction. For example, in the first of the verses that has been highlighted specifically by today’s Reading from the image of Coming to Meet, the oracle says, “There is no skin on her thighs, and walking comes hard. If one is mindful of the danger, no great mistake is made.” Superficially, you are in a weak position with regard to this question. There is nothing much that you can say in defense of your reticence with A. that would convince either him or the people around you. People will try to push you, and scare you, into going against your better judgment. Simply be ever mindful of the dangers of an unhappy marriage. Then you won’t make any mistake.

In another of the verses that has been highlighted specifically by today’s Reading from the image of Coming to Meet, the oracle says, “No fish in the tank. This leads to misfortune.” Just remember that, so far as marriage is concerned, “there is no there there,” as Gertrude Stein once said. Marriage between you and A. would be an empty formality in the end.

And in the third of the verses that has been highlighted specifically by today’s Reading from the image of Coming to Meet, the oracle says, “A melon covered with willow leaves. Hidden lines. Then it drops down to one from heaven.” This is one of my favorite verses in the I Ching Oracle. This verse tells you to trust in your destiny. Quite naturally, without your having to do anything in particular, you will easily and without effort, indeed innocently, meet the RIGHT person with whom you can confidently enter into marriage. That person is NOT A. Marriages are made in heaven. We can’t will them into happiness and fulfillment just because a parent, for example, or some friend may have told us that it was a good match. Let things develop naturally. Don’t force marriage, and it won’t force you to be disappointed and disillusioned. Maintain your innocence, and listen to your own inner wisdom, trust your intuition, and act accordingly. Then you will come infallibly to good fortune.
