The Real Stock Market Chart

The Average Stock Box shows what the average stock (the Real Stock Market) has done during 3 periods of time (sometimes 4 periods -- either the change from the all-time high or all-time low of the Market): from the beginning of the year; for the previous 12 months, and since the last signal change.

The sample above shows that from Jan 1 of the present year, the average stock has moved higher by 3%, and for the previous 12 months, by 7%. Since the last signal change, which, in this example, was a weak sell signal, the Market has moved lower by 8%. This feature also lists the date that I issued the signal change. The possible signals are displayed in the chart below this section.

Unlike the media that is interested in the Dow (30 stocks) and the NASDAQ (4,800 stocks) only, the Average Stock Index is based on the average of more than 8,000 large, mid, and small capitalization stocks traded in the U.S.

Signal Image

The signal image is based on the Indicator Index PLUS the Market Strength Indicator. The Signal Image is a good quick visual clue to the health of the Market and the direction I am expecting it to move over the next two weeks to two months. In the example above, a weak sell signal is in effect.

strong buy weak buy neutral weak sell strong sell
